Gen at Salem Storehouse January 11, 2010

So, this was Gen’s first gig of the year. I’m really proud of her. She was asked to sing a few songs for the after Christmas holiday party for the employees and spouses of Salem Storehouse. Salem is one of the local Christian bookstore’s in town. Our church leases office space above the other one!
Anyway, she got to sing 3 of the songs off her new album, “Whosoever Will” coming very soon. The music was received very well. She got great applause at the end of each one. And I even saw some of the young adults that are responsible for music at the store moving with the beat of the songs. That’s always a good sign.
But, the best compliment of the night, was from the bartender of the banquet hall. (I know, a bartender for a Christian bookstore’s holiday party… but this is Canada, and this store is managed by Doug Sprunt.) Anyway, Greg the bartender really liked it, really liked Gen’s voice and wanted a copy of her CD.
That’s a great start to 2010!
All together now… “And many more…”

A little update November 4, 2009

Filed under: News — genfalleur @ 10:17 pm

I’m enjoying being home with my family this week.
My mom is in town from Florida, what a sacrifice!
They have started mixing the French album “Des Le Reveil”…um…still lots of work to do, not done yet, but should be ready by the beginning of December.
I have to go back to the studio next week to finish up a couple of things on the English album.
Life is good, Mom’s in town, doing a puzzle with my almost 2 year old son, watching my daughter learn to read, eating apple crisp… life is very good!

What Cime Music is all about November 3, 2009

Mission CimeI guess it’s no secret that we like these guys, and are happy that we are partnering with them for this project. I’ve been really impressed with Sebastian Demrey and also with Johanne Belisle over there. The main site is for ordering music, finding out about the artists and so on.

But, they have another site, and this is what really excites me. Cime’s vision is to see French Gospel music spread all over the French-speaking world. There’s a video on the home page, that’s in French, but a lot of it is in English, and I think you’ll get the gist of what’s being said. Cime would like to get some inroads into the school systems, the media and ultimately get into the hands of families and young people some music with a positive message. Of course, that message is the gospel, it’s good news, and it brings hope and joy and peace, and calls us to the higher things and the ideal things in life. Without a doubt it’s a fundraising site, an awareness raising site, and a place to mobilize action to make an impact on the French-speaking culture and the generation that is emerging.

This beats with our heart, to see Jesus made famous in the French culture. This is a cause worth investing in.

Latest Update October 30, 2009

I’m here in Montreal at Cime with Gen today. Grandmaman is in Ottawa, holding down the fort. I think this is the last day of recording for a while. Here’s the latest…
The French Album is going to come out first, probably at the very end of November. If you would like a copy the day it comes out, send Johanne an email here, and tell her.
The English album will be released at the end of February or the beginning of March. If you want a copy of that the day it comes out, send Johanne an email here.

Pre-orders October 2, 2009

This is pretty exciting!

We’ve started getting some requests for copies of the album when it comes out. The good news, is that it looks like we’re going to be able to figure out how to do that. CIME is ready for us, it’s just a matter of organizing it, connecting the dots between CIME and you people that want a copy the day it comes out!

So, stay tuned… add this link to your feedreader, sign up for posts by email, or check back often…
